IoT sensors can be used to measure ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential) in swimming pools, rivers, lakes and drinking water supplies. In this article, we provide an outline of ORP and its relevance in regards to Smart Water applications. When IoT sensors measure ORP, pH and temperature, the data can be transmitted wirelessly to a database server or cloud platform such as Microsoft Azure. Data can then be visualised in dashboards, mobile apps or using applications such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau. Read more
What can I measure with IoT?
A common question that we are asked at Manx Technology Group is What can you measure with IoT? To help answer that question, below you will find an extensive list of the sensors that we support.
Using Plug & Sense IoT devices, the data can be transmitted and be stored in a database, Azure, AWS or any other leading cloud platform. From here, the data can be manipulated, analysed and visualised using tools such as Tableau, PowerBI and Qlik. Read more
IoT Asset Tracking with LoRa/4G
Most people will be familiar with ‘Find my iPhone’ or the Android ‘Find my Device’ – so you understand the concept of GPS tracking. A common question that we are asked is how IoT Asset tracking is different from the technology that you have on your phone? Although there are similarities, asset-tracking is a more specialist application with different requirements. In this article, we will describe some of the features and capabilities of IoT asset tracking with LoRa and 4G technology.
Internet of Things (IoT) Applications: Smart Water
Smart Water solutions use IoT (Internet of Things) technologies to monitor and measure water quality, conserve water supplies and enable cities to function efficiently. In this article, we outline four examples of how Libelium Plug&Sense can be used for Smart Water applications. The following examples demonstrate several implementations of the technology, and we outline how it can be used to enhance decision making, monitor trends and generate alerts.
10 x Benefits of Smart Parking Technology (IoT)
We look at 10 x benefits of Smart Parking technology and how it can be used to improve the retail experience, reduce environmental impact and create new business models.
Internet of Things (IoT) and ISO 37122 – A perfect partnership
In this blog post, we look at how Internet of Things (IoT) and Smart City technologies can form part of a successful ISO 37122 initiative. Smart City Indicators such as Energy, Environmental, Transportation, Waste and Water can all be measured using IoT technologies.
