Soil Moisture, Temperature and Oxygen sensors, coupled with LoRaWAN satellite gateways, mean farmers can monitor soil conditions, even in the most remote regions. IoT technologies allow intelligent monitoring, precision agriculture and smart irrigation applications – without the constraints of power or mobile/internet coverage.
Internet of Things (IoT) Applications : Smart Agriculture
Smart Agriculture is a topic that covers the many applications of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in farming, agrotech and agriculture. The use of sensors, data collection, wireless networks, cloud platforms and data analysis is already revolutionising the farming and agricultural sectors. Read more
Soil Monitoring with IoT – Smart Agriculture
Soil Monitoring with IoT uses technology to empower farmers and producers to maximise yield, reduce disease and optimise resources. IoT sensors can measure soil temperature, NPK, volumetric water content, photosynthetic radiation, soil water potential and soil oxygen levels. Data from the IoT sensors are then transmitted back to a central point (or the cloud) for analysis, visualisation and trend analysis.
The resultant data can then be used to optimise farming operations, identify trends and make subtle adjustments to conditions to maximise crop yield and quality. The use of IoT in agriculture is known as Smart Agriculture (or Smart Farming), and IoT is a central component of Precision Farming. Read more
IoT solutions for cannabis and hemp producers
By adopting IoT technology, cannabis and hemp growers can optimise their growing and production processes. IoT soil, environmental and smart sensors can help improve crop output and improve yields. Learn what’s involved with deploying IoT in your business and also understand the value it can deliver.
Internet of Things (IoT) Applications: Smart Water
Smart Water solutions use IoT (Internet of Things) technologies to monitor and measure water quality, conserve water supplies and enable cities to function efficiently. In this article, we outline four examples of how Libelium Plug&Sense can be used for Smart Water applications. The following examples demonstrate several implementations of the technology, and we outline how it can be used to enhance decision making, monitor trends and generate alerts.
