Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Monitoring

IoT ambient room sensors can be used to accurately monitor the indoor environment at your workplace, home or place of business. Research has highlighted the important link between the working environment, staff well-being, cognitive performance and productivity. Our easy-to-install sensors can be used to continually monitor environmental conditions, including temperature, humidity, pressure, CO2, particulates, and light levels.

IAQ CO2 Title

CO2 monitoring

Outdoor carbon dioxide levels are around 400ppm (parts per million). Poor or inadequate ventilation can lead to elevated CO2 levels, which can impact staff performance, productivity, and wellness. Levels exceeding 1,200ppm and even higher levels such as 2,000ppm can seriously affect cognitive performance and concentration.

The Milesight AM107 and AM300 series sensors can accurately measure CO2 using NDIR (non-dispersive infrared sensors), the most common, affordable, and accurate type of CO2 sensor on the market.

IAQ Temperature Humidity

Temperature and humidity

Many businesses, particularly offices, contend with the constant battle between heating, air-conditioning and opening the windows. Our sensors can accurately measure temperature, humidity and light levels in the office – providing a visual display to staff while providing real-time and historical insights to business owners and building managers.

Web-based dashboards provide you with an overview of data trends, view historical data and generate reports showing trends over a given period.

IAQ Room activity

Room activity monitoring

The built-in motion sensor means you can monitor room activity and occupancy levels. The sensors will record when motion or movement is detected in an office, meeting room or other location within your business premises. The activity data allows you to check meeting rooms are available and view trends relating to space utilisation, frequency and occupancy rates.

Room activity monitoring data can be used to support energy efficiency initiatives, tailoring heating and lighting arrangements to room occupancy

AM107 Casing

Easy installation

Milesight AM107 and AM300 series sensors are easy to install using self-adhesive pads or a pair of screws. The sensors are powered by 2 x AA batteries and are far easier and more cost-effective to install than a traditional BMS system.

LoRaWAN Wireless

Low-power wireless (LoRa)

Our IoT sensor uses LoRaWAN wireless, an extremely low-power, long-range wireless technology designed with IoT (Internet of Things) in mind. Sensors can connect to public networks (i.e. Isle of Man IoT Network), or we can provide a private LoRaWAN gateway for your dedicated use.

Web-based dashboard

Our solution includes a powerful web-based dashboard and mobile app that allows detailed analysis of sensor data and trends. Thresholds and alerts can be configured, so you or important business contacts are notified in the event limits are exceeded (i.e. CO2 or temperature).

Request pricing

Great value solution. MTG offer simple to understand bundles with pricing starting at £175 setup and £5 per month per sensor. The IAQ solution requires sensors, access to a LoRaWAN network and a web dashboard subscription. If you have access to a LoRaWAN network, there is no need for a dedicated gateway (gateway pricing starts at £250)

Multiple sites or buildings? If you want to understand how our IAQ solution can scale across multiple sites or entire estates, please speak to our solutions team.

The importance of ventilation and CO2 levels

Office workers had significantly improved cognitive function scores when working in Green and Green+ environments compared with scores obtained when working in a Conventional environment.

Exposure to CO2 and VOCs at levels found in conventional office buildings was associated with lower cognitive scores than those associated with levels of these compounds found in a Green building

The impact of working in a green certified building

  • 26.4% higher cognitive test scores in high-performing, green certified buildings.
  • 6.4% higher Sleep Quality scores in high-performing, green certified buildings
  • 30% fewer symptoms in high-performing, green certified buildings.
